40 Day Prayer Campaign

Dayspring Family,
You are loved by God and by our team! ❤
I want to thank you for your involvement in our prayer campaign for the last 40 days! I've heard many stories of how this season of prayer and fasting has been impactful in renewing a passion for the Lord and His church.

Why a prayer campaign?
As we set out into the new 2025 year, our leadership team felt prompted by the Holy Spirit in seeking His direction for this next season of ministry. Even though we have experienced a lot of numerical growth (close to 30% church-wide) in the past year, we want to make sure we are growing as a healthy body of Christ in our depth and knowledge of Him.
Growth is great but...
There is a buzz and energy that comes with a growing church. It's exciting to be a part of! However, numerical growth can also be problematic if we don't have the infrastructure in place to manage the people God is drawing to Dayspring. Every number has a name. Our physical building is feeling the strain of our growth which has led to us needing to open up a third service and shorten our service times. This is not ideal for a worship culture that wants to linger in God's presence and be in fellowship...but we're doing our best to find the balance. We don't want to rush ahead with some kind of capital building campaign unless we have the spiritual infrastructure to bear the weight.

Spiritual Infrastructure Update
A local church body is only healthy if her members are connected to the head of the Church, Jesus Christ. As our local body grows we want to make sure the people coming to Dayspring are getting connected to the body and to the head. Here are some current ways we are intentionally strengthening the spiritual infrastructure of Dayspring:
Connection Team -Katie Ruse has developed and refined a team/army to implement the ministry of welcome and belonging for anyone who walks through our doors.
Prayer Team - (new) developed prayer team available at the end of each service to give people an opportunity to respond to the work of the Holy Spirit leading someone to repentance, restoration, or next steps in their faith. We are also looking to develop a prayer response team to the requests that come into the church.
Marriage Ministry Team - a team of five couples available to help come alongside marriages needing discipleship, mentoring/counseling, or premarital counseling.
Discipleship Team - Pastor Brandon is leading the charge on developing a core team of disciple makers that will multiply and replicate discipleship culture in our church. Including upcoming core classes, revamped membership class, discipleship workshops, and more.
Connection Groups - on Thursday nights groups (men's, women's, young adult's, youth) meet to connect to each other and to Christ in His Word through sermon-based discussion questions with the Growing Deeper PDF. Groups like BSF, Grandparents, NOMA and many others are also connecting to each other and to God's Word.
Discipleship from Diapers to Diplomas - Pastor Josh has teamed up with the worship department to create a new structure for Wednesday night youth programming. They meet for games and fellowship in the lobby, worship together in the auditorium with a student-led band, and have a lesson from a three-year teaching curriculum in Systematic Theology. The students then meet with their small group leaders to discuss deeper applications of God's Word. Mya Johnson (Kid's Director) and her team are continuing to develop and keep up with the rapid growth of our children's ministry. Kids from preschool to 5th grade are being taught lessons by small group leaders out of a three-year program through the Bible called Generations of Grace. The foundation of the Gospel and Biblical truth is being laid one brick at a time for the next generation of the church
Vertical Worship - Pastor Tyler and the worship team are being intentional about helping the church gather Christ-exalting worship that fuels horizontal discipleship. The implementation of sound theological songs, scripture reading, prayer and monthly communion has all been intentional in making Jesus the point of our gathering. We are slowly backing away from "rock-concert production" and getting back the biblical basics of worship. The worship team is committed to cultivating an excellent, distraction-free, Christ-exalting worship environment for the gathered church body. We are blessed to have talented musicians and singers to "play skillfully unto the Lord...to ascribe unto the Lord the glory due His name!"
Community Group Launch - This Spring/Summer we will be training leaders to prepare to launch community groups throughout our tri-state region this Fall. These groups are designed to intentionally live out the implications of the Gospel where we live, work, learn, and play. These groups will be based geographically emphasizing three areas: Fellowship/Connection, Service/Care, Community Participation. These groups will be highly invitational and evangelistic, creating opportunities for disciple making. *Informational Interest meeting April 6th.
The Lord continues to reveal ways we can keep developing healthy discipleship infrastructure at Dayspring. Over the next coming months you will see more aligning and refining of our vision and mission implemented on our website and in our building to be immersed in a Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, Gospel-driven disciple making movement.

Physical (Building) Infrastructure Update
It was once said, "If you set out to build a church you may get some disciples of Jesus Christ, but if your goal is to make disciples of Jesus Christ, you will always get the church." Jesus said He will build His Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it and the way He is building His church is through the Great Commision of making disciples of all nations. As we set out to refine our discipleship strategy the way Jesus called us to (baptizing them and teaching all that He commanded) we will inevitably need to expand the physical walls of Dayspring and eventually look to plant more Gospel-centered churches. As a leadership team, we feel God has given us some (baby) steps in the direction of expanding our physical campus.
Thank you again for building us up in prayer and support during this season. "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." -Ephesians 3:20-21
